A meager year. Fell off a cliff in terms of productivity, but there was still three major highlights… Senet Rules I did make up rules for Senet. Was interesting to work on/figure out. Crochet Characters I got into crochet this year and I made a few characters in crochet form: Dien, Chatzu’kuan, and Jurak. Plus a Szarehan and a Baune. I could continue to make more, but I’m not sure who to make next. Tales Volume 1 / Book 11...
Nine years gone. I’m at the precipice of a decade since How to Stop Wildfire. I feel like I’ve done enough yet haven’t done enough for it. The ten year mark coming up feels like a big milestone that deserves more to show for, but I don’t think there’s any amount of things where I’d think I’d done enough for it. So I’m just going to keep carrying on and doing what feels right. That’s all I can really do...
2023, like 2022 was another mixed bag of things. I didn’t get as much done as I’d like, but there was definitely a variety of new and exciting things accomplished. #7 Catoverse - Unrelated Project I’ve begun an unrelated writing project for fun that’s been dubbed the Catoverse. It involves these stories and their world. I’m writing a larger work (probably a full length novel) set in that world with the character Cato. We’ll see if it ever gets done....
I find myself here, eight years on, without too much to say or reflect on in anything particular. Over this year, I’ve written things outside my domain and written more in it (including finishing The Lost). I’ve felt free to explore other ideas and random projects. Not much has come from it, realistically, but it has felt good and fun. I wonder if part of me is avoiding focusing too much on book 11—because it’s starting a big new part...
2022 was an interesting year. I was able to finish a great deal of old, random projects and try new things after completing Amethyst Shards last year. It was a quasi-break year but also a year of experimentation and wrap-ups. Anyway, here’s my top seven Spine-related events. #7 More Character Development Spotlights I completed character spotlight posts for Cyclone, King, Spellbinder, and Farrco. Dien is still pending hers and then I’ll be done with the Trinity and the One cast....
My last anniversary post was ruminating on being focused with Amethyst Shards and that not being done. Now, it is. So on this seventh anniversary of How to Stop Wildfire, I am…still a little focused on AS, but more what that represents and means. As in, the conclusion of the ten book arc, and how much more I can talk about the entire journey now that this major step is done. And what comes next. Or rather, what is going...
